Archival Mounting and Support Panels – rigid, lightweight and very strong

We make archival support panels that are lightweight, rigid and easy to use. They are incredibly versatile and have many uses.  As a result, they are frequently re-used. Some of the most common uses include:

  • Textile mounting
  • Supporting works on paper
  • Lining paintings
  • Mounting photos
  • Mounting mosaics
  • Painting and drawing
  • Object mounting and support
  • Storing large flat works such as maps

Our archival support panels will not change shape with humidity or temperature fluctuations. Consequently, you can be confident that your object is well-protected.

We hand-make each archival support panel to your size specifications. For most of them, the only limits are the size of the truck we ship it in and the size of your doors.

All of our archival support panels include a .016 aluminum skin, a sealed poplar frame and a lightweight aluminum honeycomb core. Panels over 47” in both dimensions have pieced aluminum skins joined with an aluminum-to-aluminum bond to provide a continuous flat surface. The aluminum skin is not intended to be a finished display surface, but we can add 20 point conservation board to one face.
