The L Case is a 100% archival exhibit case with a silica gel chamber below the removable deck. The hinged vitrine allows for easy access by one staff member. We offer standard designs, but we do not have standard sizes. We manufacture each case to your size requirements.
We use only inert materials for the L Case; it will not off-gas or otherwise damage your objects. These archival exhibit cases have microclimate capability. This means you can maintain a Relative Humidity inside the case that is different than that of the surrounding area. L cases typically have an air exchange rate between .75 and .5/day. They come outfitted with an external port that allows access to the silica gel chamber without the need to move your objects.
SmallCorp is well-known for the quality of our acrylic vitrines. L Case are outfitted with hinged vitrines for easy access by one staff member. While open, the vitrine is supported by gas lfters. When closed, the vitrine rests on an archival gasket that creates a seal. We manufacture museum quality acrylic vitrines from clear and UV filtering acrylic, and from Optium Museum Acrylic. L Case vitrines feature keyed compression locks to secure the vitrine and maintain the sealed environment.
The L case features a removable object deck. We offer several archival deck options. Our standard ODP deck consists of dibond and aluminum, wrapped in fabric. Our ethadeck uses the ODP deck as a base and includes a layer of pinnable ethafoam beneath the fabric. We also make object decks out of HDPE, expanded PVC and other materials. Slanted decks and removable fabric-wrapped risers are available. We offer standard fabrics or we can work with those that you specify.
We finish L Case bases with latex paint, plastic laminate or wood veneer. Silica gel chamber is standard. The Medex base is segregated from the archival object space by inert materials. Integrated leveling feet easily accommodate uneven floors. The powdercoated aluminum collar captures the vitrine and facilitates the seal.
Archival Exhibit Case Options
